Artwork Description

The much-loved Willy Wagtail is fortunately relatively common in Australia's urban and rural areas.
There are very few adults or children that have not smiled at the erratic aerial antics of this little fly-catcher as it takes insects in flight. Larger butterflies are often transferred from beak to feet for transport.
One of my favourite birds to paint. This small watercolour was of a bird in my garden. I particularly enjoy painting black and white birds as there is much scope for the artist's eye to observe the nuances of "black" and "white".
