Sensing is a textured oil painting on a stretched cotton canvas. It was inspired by the Maits Rest Rainforest walk, in the Otways, Geelong, Victoria. Painting this reminded me of that unique blend of smells of nature’s earth, the cool air against my skin, the sound of the breeze through the leaves, the creaks of old trees and the gentle light filtering through the layers and stories of vegetation.
