About this Curation

The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize embraces the theme of ‘Contemporary Life in Australia’ with an emphasis on Australians going about their day-to-day life. It celebrates contemporary photography in all its forms - from analogue to digital, staged scenes to documentary captures. This is a major Australian photographic prize, with the winner receiving fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) and $1,000 awarded to each finalist.

This year's semi-finalists have just been announced, and four of the artists featured on Bluethumb Photography have been nominated. Our congratulations to Chris Budgeon, Aaron Bradbrook, Stephen Dupont and Zorica Purlija. This curation celebrates their hard work with a hand-picked selection of works from each semi-finalist.
