About this Curation

NAIDOC Week begins on the fist Sunday of July each year, and is a celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Here at Bluethumb, we're proud to host a number of incredible Indigenous art centres. In this curation you'll find a few of our favourite pieces by Aboriginal artists, many of whom operate through remote Indigenous art centres.

About the Curator

Janni is bluethumb’s in-house curator, she knows our artists and their art like the back of her hand. Being an artist herself she has an even greater appreciation of other artists’ creations. Career highlights include curating exhibition Icons Uncovered, also at SALA festival, Melbourne Fringe and Midsumma. Janni has an eye for artworks that compliment each other and has curated many private collections.
