Glass half full #2 - Still life with apple and glass was painted Alla prima from life. The second of three paintings of the same still life subject.

I set up this still life with the intent on painting three different versions. With this one the idea was to loosen up, with visible brush strokes in a more impressionist way, whilst still capturing a sense of realism. Capturing the same subject giving each painting it's own individual mood each time, yet staying true to the subject.

The painting will fit in any frame designed for an 8 x 8 inch (20 x 20 cm) as seen in the display photos. Taken with the glass out the 3 mm sealed MDF board is a perfect fit.
