Oceana 2 is the second in a much more abstract representation of the ocean. Growing up in Western Australia the beach life is prominent.
The depth of blue when observing sea and sky fills us with memories of times spent with those close to us. Maybe even solitude. Adventures of days or nights by the ocean.
Built up using multiple layers of quality paint. This one had an extra focus on brightness of additional colour. It kind of reminds me of bathing suits and bikinis.
I really enjoyed the freedom to express and plan on pursuing more this size.
I began the painting with a large brush to block out a basic composition. From there I used palette knifes to create movement and texture. From there I added glazes and additional layers of bright colour.
