Daniel’s oil paintings offer a glimpse into a mystical and sometimes turbulent world. While his paintings draw inspiration from the landscape, they also blend together elements of impressionism, abstraction and the surreal. His painting process is both fluid and dynamic, the paint being built up slowly in numerous subtle glazes. Daniel’s paintings invite one to enter a transcendental realm of tranquility and power.
Daniel has been painting since childhood and also works in photography and film. He has had his work exhibited throughout Australia as well as internationally. His work is represented in corporate and private collections around Australia and overseas. Daniel has spent many years travelling throughout India, Europe, United States and Australia. Travel and nature forms a major inspiration for his work and he has trekked through the Himalayas, visited the islands of Thailand and spent a year travelling the outback of Australia. He lived and painted from his studio in the Catskill Mountains outside New York City for a year and a half and now lives and paints in Melbourne, Australia. Daniel was a finalist in the Corangamarah Art Prize, Otway Estate Winery, Colac in 2011.
