Artwork Description

Mixed Media on paper

Signed on the front.

A cocoon is an envelope often largely made of silk, which an insect larva forms around itself and in which it passes to the next stage of its evolution. I can relate to this very much. Sometimes I surround myself with certain material objects, which inform and inspire the next creation I make. When I'm happy, I notice that blue features often in these objects. There is just something about the colour blue that speaks to my soul. I try to reflect this feeling in my work, and use alcohol inks and acrylic paint to make the colour breathe a soul of it's own.

It is recommended that this piece be framed after purchase.

It situ is not exactly to scale, but it's pretty darn close.
