Red-Tailed Blacks are one of my favourite Australian birds. This is only my second painting of this bird species, although I plan on painting many more in future.
Red-Tails are typical parrots, that exhibit curious behaviour and a high degree of intellect which enables them to adapt to a wide variety of environments. They mainly eat nuts and seeds, and I have depicted them high in the treetops of the Australian bush. They are loyal to their breeding mates, whom they nest with in the hollows of old trees.
