I made some encaustic wax to mix wifh my oils a while ago, and experimnted on a composit board resulting in the backdrop for this piece. I'd left it to dry and decided yesterday to do something more so decided to try a head, i nearly started in flesh tones but am happy to have painted her in blues . She had an overwhelming response among my friends and was sold straight away so I may follow this style at least while I enjoy working on them.
