Hip Cockatoo by Deb Webb- painting on paper inspired by local bird life.
The Inspiration:
This Hip Cockatoo has such a cuteness to him. He has a colourful innocence that is almost child like. I love painting in an intuitive style and often the sense of play comes out. I think it's important to tap into our playful side and not take life too seriously. That is what Hip Cockatoo seems to be conveying. He is not neat but rather messy and playful. This in a room would immediately lift it and create a focal point and certainly interest.
The colours of yellow, green blue and pink bring about the playfulness while the paynes grey creates a beautiful contrast.
