I wanted to make a happy painting about one of my many visits to the river, where nature seems to melt away the cares of the day. The many layers, scratchings, mark makings, and rich surface of the painting draws the viewers eyes to roam around the full extent of the painting, and, hopefully, experience the simple joys and pleasures of a peaceful duck pond.
