Debra is a wildlife artist living in the beautiful Hunter Valley, two hours drive north of Sydney, NSW. Her style is realist and she works mainly in the mediums of soft pastels, graphite and coloured pencils.

Like many others, Debra's passion for art began as a child. She would spend hours copying illustrations from storybooks and comics, obsessing over every detail.

In 2012, many years later and after a busy career a million miles away from art, Debra decided to revisit her childhood passion to see what she could achieve. Encouraged by family and friends, she developed her skills further, joining several online art sites and creating a social media profile.
A little over a year later, Debra felt confident enough to enter her first gallery competition, the 2013 Lane Cove Art Awards. Her work “Contemplating” was awarded the People’s Choice Award.

In the years since, Debra has had some wonderful highlights, including reaching the final round of the 2015 David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Award. She has also accomplished a childhood dream and had her work exhibited at the Royal Sydney Easter Show for the past five years.

Debra’s art is now in homes across the world including the USA, UK, Africa, New Zealand and Europe.
A passionate animal lover, she is also a proud supporter of wildlife conservation and regularly donates pieces to international conservation organisations, including the Good Samaritan Donkey Sanctuary, The Centre for Great Apes, Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Save the Chimps Sanctuary.

Her work is known for being emotive. She strives to create pieces that move the viewer, stir some emotional response and hopefully create empathy and awareness.
