This work is from the series “Sonnets”‚ which explores the concepts of beauty‚ decay and time ever present in “Shakespeare’s Sonnets”.
The title “Which Time and Thoughts” is borrowed from Sonnet 39 –
“To entertain the time with thoughts of love‚
Which time and thoughts so sweetly dost deceive‚
And that thou teachest how to make one twain
By praising him here who doth hence remain.”
A difficult piece to photograph. “Which Time and Thoughts” was made by painting the text of the sonnet‚ that is‚ the text was hand written on canvas and then the patterns and negative spaces formed by the text was painted. There are also some lines created by cotton stitching. The painting was then finished with cotton netting to suggest the movement of a figure or thought.
