Always loved the 20's & 30's Fashions. I also Love Using Greys And Find It Adds Depth To My Paintings.
"Evelyn In Chiffon", is No, 4/10 in a series I have undertaken.
My Photographic Award Winning Mother was an absolute fan of Monochrome work and spent many a time perfecting her Craft with her enthusiasm of this brushing off on me.
I Often searched through old black and white photographs and loved the effects Colour can't produce. On coming across some original 1920's Glamour series of pictures on the web, I liked the Models one in particular captivated me with her beauty of some 98 years ago.
Enough to want to put her to canvas.
I also selected Evelyn as a name from a search of popular names from that time period.
I placed my own choice of background and props into the work while through the series I have undertaken to have the Models look to be the one Lady.
Changing hair styles and colour to match and also facial features. Then adding or omitting jewellery as I saw fit to keep the continuity in all the Paintings. All Props I have used are from that time period to keep in fitting with the 20's.
I Do Hope You Enjoy Viewing These Works.
