Like "Bright white day" this painting was inspired from memories that began 40 years ago, at Mt Buller and Falls Creek, when we would leave Melbourne at 4 am, arrive on mountain before the runs opened, scoff down a bacon and egg roll and get to the front of the chair queue. That anticipation and excitement, your on top of the summit, and it's all downhill, gliding through the snow, gathering speed, freezing cold air and on a perfect day, fresh snow and sunshine. The crowds build, but you can always find a clean run. To this day if i smell cold air mixed with diesel it takes me back....those were the old days, and the light bouncing of the snow, unforgettable.
