Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

The inspiration for this piece evolved from a massive delivery of magnolia blooms, gifted to me by one of my gorgeous art students. There were so many I had to find numerous vessels to squeeze them all in and my home abounded with pink blooms for well over a week! This piece shows the stems that were large and needed a sturdy support, and the demi john was perfect. Of course a lemon found its way into the painting because I can’t resist a dash of yellow.

This piece is painted using Australian made, artist quality paints, and is beautifully textured in places.

A bunch of daffodils in an old jar next to a stack of books with a small vase sitting on top of the book stack. There are orange and lemon segments scattered in the foreground. An interior with a tea pot and brown bottle with poppies in it, sitting on a desk. In the background is an armchair, coffee table and windows. A posy of succulents sits in a white jug atop a stack of three books. There is a crystal glass with dessert wine in it, and a half lemon resting against the glass. A pear sits next to the books, opposite the glass. Daffodils sitting in a jar atop two books. There is a cut lemon to the right of the jar.
