Scratchboard is the working surface of a three-layer medium made up of 1/8” masonite panel as a support. Every line, dot and dimple, variation in tone and value is created by hand, based on how many scratches are done and how much white clay eyes see.
Curious and a bit suspicious dog is looking at the viewers from behind the fence, but we all know that everything will be fine, because humans are friendly and kind creatures, aren’t we? This scratchboard is mostly black & white, but I added colour to the dog’s eyes for more realistic effect and visual impact.
The picture is framed in a stylish double frame without glass to give the viewer more chance to feel and see up-close the texture and 3-dimential nature of the scratchboard technique. The artwork is sprayed with multiple layers of fixative for protection. Framed size: 30 x35cm
