Continuing with my love of the landscape I have downsized and started to experiment with different types of surfaces. With these little landscapes on plywood‚ I ‘v been investigating Glazing & building up layer upon layer of semitransparent paint to create depth.
The clouds in these works have been painted in the same way but with the addition of tints which are less transparent allowing me to construct and form clouds. This process involves time‚ allowing each layer to dry before the next layer is applied is important in this process as there needs to be a clear division between layers and any blending can eliminate the effect. I plan on creating many works in this way and this process is a major part of my painting practice today.
