I just love kookaburras! When I was a little girl we used to go on a horse-drawn caravan holiday in the Aussie bush, and it was the best holiday ever. We had a beautiful big draught horse pulling us along, and we used to camp next to a creek or dam of the evening. Thats when I saw my first kookaburra. They are beautiful stocky little birds, with a lovely plump tummy and gorgeous shaped beak. And you cant forget their amazing sound! They literally sound like they are laughing. I hope you enjoy 'my take' on the humble kookaburra, as much as I enjoyed painting it..
