This painting has a beautiful celestial feeling - a little bit moody and from another place, or the feeling of peace, and solitude, you get in the night, when your up and everyone else is asleep..
Pattern is always central to my work, and this piece explores mark making, strong composition and colour play. I wanted to explore the tonal ranges of each shape with complimentary colours of light and dark, whilst playing with various shades of green, gold and dusty pink..
The background is a blend of deep turquoise and muddy green wash (like the bottom strip) as I wanted to create some texture and interest.
