I grew up on a dairy farm. The Friesian cows we kept on our farm were most likely one of my earliest memories. I'm still comforted by black and white. When I see the Queensland country, and that golden flax coloured grass or 'Queensland Green' as I affectionately refer to it, it feels very much like 'Home Time'. I have painted the cow in this piece as if it were melting, much like the landscape surrounding, melting, like a memory. Memories are like a cordial, they get sweeter as time goes by.
