This painting depicts a Supernova, the moment when a star explodes and blasts all sorts of matter in all directions. These blasts create much of the material in our universe as well as enriching elements which actually help with new star formation.
This process reminds me of the rapid regeneration that we see after bushfires, the fire actually stimulates growth and the landscape recovers surprisingly fast.
I'm intrigued by this natural process of huge violent destruction leading to new life so that's what I've chosen to explore in this artwork.
