Artwork Description

Prismacolor and Copic markers and pencils on 220 gsm acid free paper.

This is the second illustration in a series of 4.

I love comic book style illustrations and animation so wanted to create an artwork in a similar style. I love Studio Ghibli films and also wanted to capture a scene of everyday life in Japan.

I used a restricted range of colours, giving the work more of a mood. The blues tie in with the cold winter rain, while the creams and peaches add some warmth so the work isn't depressing.

I didn't use a ruler for any of the lines as I wanted to give it less of a realism/photographic look and more hand drawn.
