The Australian outback is known for its sparse ruggedness and deprivation of water. However, when rains fall hard and long, it awakens the countryside and all manner of life is brought forth, from tall eucalyptus gum trees, to fields of flowers... from flocks of birds to lizards, frogs and fish.
I have attempted to capture the quintessential landscape of arid Australia following a drought-breaking rain. The stark beauty of this countryside is all about those colours - burnt orange, silvery blue and bronzed green. My painting aims to take you there - to feel the sunshine on your face and smell new rivers running.
I am also delighted to announce that the Bluethumb team have featured this painting in their curated collection "Framed For Your Leisure" which can be found here:
Framed by Melbourne framer Southern Buoy in Tasmanian oak, this painting yields a large impact and will add a gorgeous splash of colour and depth to your wall.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born into a family of musicians, authors, actors, photographers and painters, it was natural that life lead me here, poised at the canvas, brush in hand. I live entirely off-grid at my bushland home in rural Victoria with hubby, dogs and a gorgeously prolific vegetable garden.
I use art to express my immense - well, let's say obsessive - passion for the Australian landscape, which is easily recognised in my vibrant colourful and sensitive artworks. Luscious layers of pigment are applied with energy and spontaneity, often switching from brush to palette knife to provide additional texture and depth to my paintings.
Like something similar in a different size or using different colours? I am happy to discuss commission requests.
Please note, I do not produce prints of my artwork, as I prefer that each of my paintings is entirely original.
My paintings are treated with the greatest care throughout their life in my studio and home, or at exhibitions where they may temporarily hang. I am extremely careful to ensure your art does not suffer scuff marks, dents or scratches; and it will be carefully wrapped in bubble-wrap and sturdy cardboard. Gift wrapping is available on request.
