Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

Falling leaves, weightless in the wind, fall to earth, crisped from hot summer’s sun.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK
These two paintings are intended to be hung side-by-side, however each painting stands alone. They have been left unsigned so you can decide how they are to be hung.

The background has been painted in a cross-hatch stroke using a blue grey, and the leaves and flowers are painted in simple tones containing red, yellow ochre, black and white.

The design is painted as wrap around on every edge, so whether you hang the art together or separately, the design wraps around all edges.

My suggestion is to hang the paintings as shown in the photos – about half an inch apart. The wire on the back can be easily moved using a screwdriver.

FRAMING
There is no need to frame these artworks, however a custom-built floating Tasmanian oak frame can be fitted for an additional $100 per painting. Please let me know if you are interested and please allow 2 – 3 weeks for framing.

If hanging the art together, I do not recommend framing.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born into a highly creative family of musicians, authors, actors and painters, and learned from a young age how to observe and appreciate nature and my environment. So, as an adult, there is no surprise I have embraced art as my full time career and passion. Working almost exclusively in oil paint, my art is heavily influenced by the indigenous landscape, particularly of the Northern Territory, and my home in central Victoria where I live entirely off-grid on rambling bushland acreage.

Drawing on the talent of Australia's wonderful plein air and impressionism artists, I prefer to complete a painting in a single sitting (“alla prima”) in order to capture the light and movement of the subject at hand, yielding a free, loose style, and using a limited palette of colours. My art has been described by my peers as ‘semi-abstract semi-realism’ and demonstrates my immense (and sometimes obsessive) love for nature.
