"Living Colour" pays tribute to Australia's gorgeous eucalyptus leaves. My backyard is littered with gum trees, all suffering in the recent heat, all leaves warped and rust-coloured, and mostly full of caterpillars!
A liberal splash of artistic license has been used here to accentuate the colour and texture of these lovely leaves.
It has been painted using Matisse Artist Acrylics, using both broad brushstrokes and a palette knife, and loads of layering. The result is a colourful bold painting with subdued highlights and lowlights; its subject seemingly popping off the canvas. It would look perfect in a living or rumpus room and would even look great in a child's bedroom.
Please note, the sides have been painted white, however if you prefer another colour, I can re-paint according to your specifications. Please contact me for this request.
