Perseverance has spent some time on exhibition in my local gallery in country Victoria, and has returned to my studio, ready for sale. It is inspired by the stark landscape of central Australia, stripped back, removed of detail, revealing saturated hues depicting a wide open desert flanked by gum trees and water, with birds and a lizard for a little whimsy. The contrast between complementary colours yields a pleasant, warm view with cool greens and purples to provide balance.
Framed by Melbourne framer Southern Buoy in Tasmanian oak, this small painting yields a large impact and will add a gorgeous splash of colour and depth to your wall.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born into a family of musicians, authors, actors, photographers and painters, it was natural that life lead me here, poised at the canvas, brush in hand. I live entirely off-grid at my bushland home in rural Victoria with hubby, dogs and a gorgeously prolific vegetable garden.
I use art to express my immense - well, let's say obsessive - passion for the Australian landscape, which is easily recognised in my vibrant colourful and sensitive artworks. Luscious layers of pigment are applied with energy and spontaneity, often switching from brush to palette knife to provide additional texture and depth to my paintings. I have recently embarked on painting using skin tones to further broaden my skills as an artist.
Like something similar in a different size or using different colours? I am happy to discuss commission requests.
Please note, I do not produce prints of my artwork, as I prefer that each of my paintings is entirely original.
Best,
Eve x
