I can see this straggly old gum tree from my lounge room window, and right now, the weather is cold and windy. Nevertheless, the tree is finally blooming, and my bees can enjoy the nectar flow. I painted this almost entirely with a palette knife, as I wanted to capture as much texture and layering as possible.
