Linocut Print on paper
Signed and numbered on the front.
The eastern quoll (Dasyurus viverrinus) is a small carnivorous marsupial that became extinct from mainland Australia over fifty years ago due to disease and predation by introduced predators. The species remains relatively widespread in Tasmania. A small re-introduced population thrives within the predator-free Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary in Canberra.
This is a one-of-a-kind unique print (hence U/P on the title of the work) that uses several printing techniques to create a multi-layered piece of art on beautifully thick 300 gsm Hahnemühle paper. The dominant dark tones reflect the quoll’s mostly nocturnal activities. This is a 'bleed print' where the image continues to the edges of the paper. It is available unframed (the 11" x 14" Australian hardwood frame is for demonstration purpose).
