Attracted to aquatic flora, I found these water lilies in a pond at a botanic garden. The sunlight and shadows enhanced the sculptural qualities of the blooms, creating brilliant contrasts between dark and light, and warm and cool colours. To me, the simple colour palette suggests purity and summer.
