This series of 4 gouache and charcoal works were inspired by Dale Hickey's large monochrome colour paintings I saw at an exhibition at Ian Potter Gallery, Melbourne University, around that time. I was imagining his work in an ideal studio setting, and playing with formal arrangements of colour and space, rhythm and composition. This work has been exhibited at Albury Art Gallery in 2008, (now MAMA). They are framed behind glass in hardwood (Ash) and exhibit well as a group adjacent to each other. Size framed : 40x120x4cm. Weight approx 10kg.
