In Asia some trees are considered sacred. People decorate them with bright ribbons and build spirit houses next to them, bring offerings of food, water and flowers. When building a sidewalk, tree will never be chopped, rather a path will be made around it. That's why in Bangkok there are so many trees right in the middle of the sidewalk. This is one of those sacred trees inspired by my period of life in Bangkok. at the bottom right side of a tree I painted unalome - buddhist symbol of life's constant cycle: birth-life-death-rebirth.
