Ships entering the Hunter River at Newcastle must line up with the Leading Mark to navigate the narrow channel. It is a quirky and distinctive marker on the breakwater beyond the famous Nobbys headland. The work reflects my interest in bold contemporary design while still picturing a recognisable place.
