The multi-layered interconnections & inspirations of this work ~
.
"... THE CASTLEREAGH RIVER rises in the ancient lava-bones of the Warrumbungles - ‘Crooked Mountains’ in the language of the Kamilaroi people. It flows down across their country – first fleshed by valleys, escorted by foothills, curving into plains – divining its future in stones, shells, birds and water. Desert Quandongs cast their foothill spells of native fruit. Privet seeds invade flowing water – dropping from the hearts of birds among the vanishing fish … the wingbeat of Omens sings and flies with White Cockatoos …"
.
THIS NEW COLLECTABLE MASTER-WORK painting is from the Artist’s Private Collection. The work has never been available on the Art Market before, and is a unique, high quality investment painting by a multi award-winning Australian contemporary artist.

FROM A DISTANCE my paintings echo the abstract dimensions of landscape – large forms may well be hills, bushes, trees, rocks, vines humped over sticks … OBSERVED CLOSELY the work invites a Zen meditation akin to Haiku poetry, smells, sound, alchemy and magic - where intricate multi-layered organisms flicker in fields of translucent glazes and Figurative Abstraction, and memories trigger deep responses to the natural world
---
VERSO (BACK OF PAINTING): The front surfaces and sides of all my paintings are perfect, varnished and impeccable. The back surfaces (verso) reveal their Australian history through forgivable peculiarities and hints – patches of gold leaf over old titles … paint and minor marks … gathered as they travelled from bush sites and city studios to major Exhibitions, Art Museums and Public Art Galleries

PLEASE NOTE FRAMING: Requires NO Framing - 3cm GALLERY FINISHED EDGES in Dutch Gold Leaf and/or Paint are an integral part of the work and looks good from all sides
