Artwork Description

Influenced by the work of Wendy Sharpe and her colourful astute observation made on her travels and everyday experiences, I painted this after a recent trip to the Dior Exhibition at the NGV. I was struck by how many people (including myself at the front right of the painting) are often more interested in the photos we take on our phones than the actual beauty and details of what we are looking at. I also like the play between reality and fantasy. The sharp difference between the modern day clothing and Dior's elaborate stunning designs. Are we really modern? Have we learnt anything?
