Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Robot Boy is a large abstract artwork with influence drawn from De Kooning, and Basquiat.
The inspiration for this painting came from another painting which I finished recently. In that painting I was creating a non figurative design, but I kept noticing figures appearing, so I decided to scratch that itch and go full figurative.
The results, if I'm modest, are quite impressive. The balance of colours, the loose style of painting, and the overall composition make for an impressive abstract artwork.
I enjoyed painting Robot Boy so much, that I may continue with a series featuring Robot Boy.
The painting itself has been painted on a high quality Eraldo canvas stretched onto frame and stretcher bars. I have used artist grade acrylic paints. I have continued painting over the sides of the canvas so that it can be hung with or without a frame. The painting has been finished with several layers of gloss varnish to bring out the colours and to add protection.
