"Top Brass" is something of a contradiction. It well structured, but loose. Its colourful, but muted. It is immediate, but detailed.
I created this painting in my Sydney studio after analysing the works of artists such as Mondrian, Matisse, and Diebenkorn. I've incorporated these artists (and many more) into my own style.
Top Brass is a large 105cm X 82cm abstract artwork painted on high quality 12oz "Eraldo" canvas. The painting has continued over the edges, which means it is ready to hang immediately. I have used artist grade acrylic paints, and finished the painting off with a satin coat to provide protection.
As shown in the photos, this artwork may be hung in either portrait or landscape orientation. Though my preference is the portrait mode, I think both work very well.
