Guy Morgan is rapidly becoming one of Australia’s most recognisable and regarded portrait painters. Guy’s work has been exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW, the Art Gallery of WA and over 20 Regional and Municipal Art Galleries across the country.

His other work includes Landscapes, Abstracts and ongoing large-scale Nebula paintings. These series feature his highly unusual method of applying oil paint – with an eyedropper!
After resuming his fine arts career in 2004, Guy Morgan started his #afterretinaldetachment portrait series in 2012. His paintings have appeared in the country’s most prestigious art awards including the Archibald Prize, the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture, the Percival Portrait Painting Prize and many others. He won the inaugural Cambridge Studio Gallery Portrait Prize in 2014.

His work is tightly held in private collections in UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Guy studied at the renowned St Martins School of Art and the London College of Printing before moving to Australia. He worked in the advertising industry as an art director and writer and taught at the Queensland College of Art and Raffles College of Design & Commerce in Sydney. He completed a Coursework Masters in Painting in 2010 at Sydney College of the Arts where he also served on the Academic Board.
