Minilya is currently operating as a cattle station that once operated as a sheep station. One of the icons of this area is the Minilya Roadhouse, situated on the right side of the Minilya bridge. I have stopped at the roadhouse on a few occasions on trips to Exmouth, and it has been a welcoming sight to stop and take a break sit and have a meal. I was inspired to paint this iconic roadhouse as one day this place may be gone.
