I like to keep things simple. I use a combination of compressed and natural willow charcoal. I remove marks‚ but avoid the addition of white beyond that of the stock. It is purely about the controlled removal of the papers ability to reflect light‚ the charcoal speaks to me.
What it is that makes me different to any other artist‚ is that no one ever looks at my work and says‚ "I could have done that" or "my five year old could have done that".
