We headed out to Gordon Country a couple of weeks ago, it was torrential rain and gale force winds, we set up our camp and I was thinking we must be mad in the head.
The rain did ease after a few days and we managed to get in a couple of long walks, it is in these moments why I remember why we come here.
The bird life is amazing and on this particular occasion you could hear these curious black cockatoo's in the distance. Their call is quite soulful and at the same time empowering, I felt such happiness and contentment as he calmly sat on his perch and watched me as I was taking photos of him.
In this painting I was trying to capture the softness of the rain and mist, in contrast to the cockatoo's powerful presence.
