Metal on metal
Signed on the back.
This vessel is hand-raised from flat sheet copper, with an oxidised finish.
Raising is a traditional silversmithing technique where sheet metal is formed over a solid object by repeated "passes" of hammering and annealing with a torch. It is a long and laborious discipline.
This piece was made as a part of a series of work, exploring romance, aesthetic pleasure, and the singular beauty of form, each inspired work reflects upon the intimate relationship that forever exists between artist and conceived object.
This artwork will naturally patina overtime.
