Artwork Description

Seeing tankers on the horizon has been a recurring experience. No matter where I've lived and often where I've travelled, I have been near a shipping route. My first foray away from Australia was on a passenger ship. A magnificent sunset over calm tropical seas brought this lonely tanker into sharp relief. To me, it felt like being home.

Please Note: Despite my best efforts to take accurate photos of my artworks, due to different monitors and devices the colours may vary slightly.

Medium

Panpastels are a relatively new medium. Very fine, pigment rich chalks are applied with palette knives and sponges so the act of creating these works is more painting than drawing and the resulting surface is very soft. Super light fast 360gsm archival acid free pastel paper.
