Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the back.
Deconstructed landscape #3 is from my ‘Deconstructed’ series where I abstract the landscape,
including its rough edges, to tap into its raw elemental power and attempt to extract the rugged beauty, then push it, with energy, into the canvas using textured palette knife gestures and oil pastel marks.
I continue my quest for expressive colour relationships contained within my need to experience the ‘Joy of colour’ which is often revealed in strong saturated hues unencumbered by realism in shape or value.
This painting is a departure for me as it is in oil and not my regular acrylic paint, just a different technique involved but still constructed using layers and glazing thin veils of translucent colour to only partially cover the previous layer so retaining its integrity.
Join me on this journey through abstraction and enjoy all the layered colours and textured canvas on your wall.
