This painting is one of a recent series inpired by the beautiful Bunurong coast line on the Bass Coast of Victoria. I spend a lot of time here, in awe of the rugged coastline, its ancient textured rocks and graphic strata cliffs. In contrast, there are many beautiful quiet beaches where there are many rock pools to explore, and within them...looking closer, and closer again! I love to discover the delicate marine ecologies, fragile shells clinging to the crevices and riding in and out in the tides.
This particular painting captures a beautiful little 'community' of colourful jewel- like shells harbouring in the crevices.
