This painting was inspired by travels to the Northern Territory, in particular the walk in to Jim Jim Falls Kakadu N.P. This is the second painting/version of this image captured on the day. The colours and the shimmering reflections of the gorge into the falls were hypnotic - simultaneous movement and stillness.
I worked quite quickly and energetically on this large painting, trying to recreate the vibration of the waters surface and the deep still pool beneath.
