I'm particularly drawn to the colours and textures within my environment. So its no surprise that as I've begun to spend more and more time on the Bass Coast of Victoria, since 2015 - I've been both inspired and compelled to paint this beautiful area. What I really love is the rugged rock formations and the wildnesss of this coast. The geology of the area has created numerous beaches which fill with rock pools - a source of endless discovery looking in to them, each so different and transient. With this series of work, I enjoyed the challenge of showcasing both the rough textures and the constraasting stillnesss of the water in these pools, and trying to capture my impressions upon discovering them.
