Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

This is an original, one off, colourful abstract painting on canvas ready to hang on your beautiful wall.

These colours make me so happy. So full of life and joy. Pastel blues, pinks and olive mixing with warm earthy burnt orange and terracotta's and a splash coral.

In this painting there is a beautiful slightly textured surface from creating the artwork in layer upon layer of paint. This gives a wonderful 3D effect as well as allowing the underneath colours to cheekily peek through the surface. The colours are both soft and brilliant being inspired by mini-worlds discovered in rock pools, shorelines, coral blooms and sea-washed pebbles.

‘Bio Bloom Rock Pool VII’ continues in my fascination with the minutiae of life and aquatic themes. It belongs to my ‘Bio Bloom’ Series exploring the sublime beauty of microscopic life and the natural world. I am deeply inspired by the natural world and the forces that shape it. All the tiny fragments of the universe and patterns of life.

The big. The tiny. The sea. The molecules. The microscopic. These things I think about and look at when I create these paintings. They can be viewed as miniscule cell life just as easily as an underwater sea garden with floating coral blooms or that wonderous time of year when coral reproduces on the great barrier reef.

The organic circular motifs I often use allude to pulsating growth formations, cellular life forms and to the beautiful otherworldliness of the microscopic building blocks of life. The variation in the size and shape of the forms in this painting moves our eyes attention in and out of focus across the picture plane. I really enjoy that your eyes get to explore and discover subtle hidden shapes and textures within the painted surface. A joy to the eye and the mind.

”I feel like I am gently floating like jelly-fish” is a lovely comment I so often receive from this series.

What I enjoy most about my paintings is they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their walls finesse and a splash of colour for years to come.

ALL PAINTINGS ARE VARNISHED with Professional Quality Artists Varnish, once they have been photographed. This gives a protective surface and an exquisite sheen that really makes the colours powerful & eye-catching.
The painting is on canvas wrapped around traditional wooden stretcher bars with edges that are a smart 3.5cm deep out from your wall.
The edges are cleaned, staple free and painted a neutral grey to compliment this painting.
Ready to put on your wall with hanging wire on back.
Painting is signed and titled verso.

I have tried to keep the prices of my paintings lower than usual due to the effect of Corona Virus on the world economy and my income. I am hoping it helps some buyers to beautify their homes in this current situation and be able to support a sole trader - artist (that's me), at the same time.
Prices will return to normal when the world does.
