‘Bio-Sphere Evolution Revolution’. As the title suggests, this one has a slightly primordial, beginning of life and time feel in the forms and the blurring and fluidity of the paint. Life evolving and revolving around itself.
This round painting allows you to come in close like looking through a circular microscope lens. The colours reflect nature and are inspired by microscopic life forms and the mini-worlds discovered in rock pools and coral reefs. There is a touch of the Australian landscape with hues drawn from earth and sky.
‘Bio-Sphere Evolution Revolution’ belongs to my ‘Aqua Vitae’ Series, inspired by microscopic other worlds and aquatic wonderlands. Particularly cell growth, minuscule amoebas, plant life and of course, as I grew up by the sea, I can never escape the otherworldliness of underwater sea life such as coral, algae blooms and seaweed growth. The shapes I have used and their arrangement are intended to form visual intrigue moving in and out of focus and relating to our memories of things in nature.
Ultimately the paintings are about our sense of awe and wonder at nature and the miraculous building blocks of all life.

But what I enjoy most about my paintings is that they make people smile with a sense of wonderment and feelings of happiness as well as giving their beautiful walls interest and a splash of colour for years to come.

I have reduced the price of this painting due to the effect of Corona Virus on the world economy and my income. I am hoping it helps some buyers to beautify their homes in this current situation and be able to support a sole trader - artist (that's me), at the same time.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jacquelyn Stephens is a Melbourne based artist who has been successfully exhibiting her paintings for over 20 years since completing a BFA in Painting at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts. She has gained an extensive knowledge of Art, quality art materials, techniques and theory from working closely within the arts industries and in her own art practice. Jacquelyn works full time from her studio on the Melbourne fringe. She has had several successful solo and group exhibitions in commercial galleries and artists run spaces. Her paintings can be seen in many media publications and are held in private collections worldwide. Many of the key themes in her work have been informed by her interest in water, nature, science, the environment and the domain of medicine.
